Gargoyles are cold blooded and have slow metabolisms. Their communities consist of villages, each with a few nests, that covers at most a square mile. Their movements are discrete and their activities are slow and carefully planned. There is always a great deal going on in a village, but for outsiders it is hard to detect. There is plenty of small game in the swamp to support the Gargoyle villages, nevertheless each village hunts on its own traditional area. Males and females participate in hunting. The responsibility of hunting is seen as a duty of the community, and hunters take turns and spend most of their time doing other things. The villages themselves are hard to spot because they are camoflauged.
Of greatest value to the Ghost Dragon culture is their stories. Hunters tell stories about successful hunts that help find game and teach hunting skills. Gargoyles pass on ancient diplomatic matters stories. The properties of the plants in the swamp are explained in stories. A Gorgoyle who is a good storyteller and full of good stories is considered a valuable community member. If stories are told that depict some outsiders in a negative light, the news gets around very quickly and their chances making friends with Gargoyles are slim.
