This side of the valley forms a high plateau before suddenly dropping off. At the edge of the plateau is a tower, traditionally used as a beacon (using fire, smoke or rockets) to alert the people of the valley to approaching danger. Now it is occassionally used as a Roc-mail communication relay by the Empire.

Few people live up here, and game is plentiful for local and visiting hunters who are willing to make the trip.

  • The tower is ancient and designed for multiple purposes. It is built with reinforced walls at the base to protect against animals. The architecture of the tower is ancient in design. Some Gargoyles visit during traditional hunts to propogate mutually beneficial relationships with their Kobold allies. Their arrival is generally considered a special ceremonial event, although they do little but take advantage of the excellent sun-bathing opportunity once they have arrived.
• Culture
  • The plateau has been used for centuries as a traditional hunting grounds of the Kobolds in the valley. Males and females are participate in a hunt as a right of passage, or comming of age activity. Only males hunt and the females prepare the meat and hides of the animals back at the tower. Females preparing for marriage go out on several hunts like males. The tower was origionally built as a lodge for the first hunters, but now it is also used by the empire.

  • The Hunting Grounds
    • Commerce - there is plenty of food to go around on the hunting grounds, if your a carnivore. Some Titan traditions compel Titans to capture wild animals for roles in their ceremonies. These animals are usually dangerous, and their survival in the valley is dependant on their usefulness in Titan ceremonies.
    • People - The people on the plateau only gather in family or traditional groups. These groups may be composed of Titans, Kobolds, and Gargoyles but not often Minotaurs. The Minotaurs who do make their presence known on the plateau are either causing trouble or defecting from traditional Minotaur society. Some old Kobolds come out to the tower to die because of the socializing Gargoyles there.
    • Landscape - at the lake side of the plateau is a boat dock and a few miles into the plateau there is a tower. The boat dock is in a semi-forested area. The plateau brings to mind the sound of the wind through the grasses and the calls of the herds. There are small carniverous wild animals, pest birds, birds of prey, large game and pachyderms on the plateau.
    • Buildings - At the dock there is a safe house for the troubled water traveler. The only other building around is the tower.
