Hand to Hand Abilities
Your Hand to Hand combat bonus is determined by combining a General Ability
(Hand to Hand System or "fighting style") and a Skill (Weapon Proficiency.)
Each General Ability is a complete fighting system, but a serious
hand to hand fighter may develop more than one for versatility.

- Grappling/sticky style.
- Connected with swamp/shadow (effective in water and for assassins)
- Emphasizes one-on-one combat.
- No power strikes (Strikes must use less than HP/round)
- No pushing (no manipulation except for hold and throw?)
- Long and Flexible weapons can only be used to manipulate, wrench or choke
Tao Rho
- Striking/hard style.
- Especially useful for low-tech warriors.
- No wrenching or choking

- No fast strikes. (Strikes must use at least 2 HP
or more than half of your HP/round.)
- No choking. (only manipulation and wrenching while standing)
- No flexible weapons
- Only parry and push while on the ground (prone)
One Leg Lance
- Applies to striking techniques executed with one or less feet on the ground.
- Applies to any hand-to-hand technique involving a simultaneous action using Acrobatic or Flying ability.

- It also applies to using long weapons using only one hand, has techniques for using paired long weapons.
- This art is rarely practiced in public, as it reveals social connections to the Secret Order of the Thunder Lance.
- This indegenous martial art was developed by Rocs who were loyal to King Raikou, and was derived primarily from Tao Rho.
Hand to Hand Skills (Weapon Proficiencies)
- Natural Weapons - wrestling, unarmed combat or boxing
- Short Weapons - club and knife-like weapons
- Long Weapons - staff and spear-like weapons
