Abaddon![]() Abaddon is an entire solar system that is totally cut off from the other Squawk worlds. Abaddon has many worlds inhabited by Anthrosaurs. Most of these places are artificial structures, but there are also several of them that are natural planets. Some of the larger "natural" worlds are (from nearest the sun to farthest):
There are several planets farther out than the "natural" worlds, called the "outer worlds" or "outlands". These are mostly large planets with many moons, mostly uninhabited except for small artificial habitats. The civilizations here tend to be very high tech, reclusive, and individualistic. They typically have relationships where everybody is some kind of royalty or other type of aristocrat. There are no major planets closer to the sun, but there is a thick asteroid belt. This region is sometimes called the "underworld." It is densely populated by a fairly advanced civilization which exploits the plentiful solar energy of the region. On the other hand the region is handicapped by the intense solar radiation which destroys delicate electronic devices, fries unprotected organisms, and interferes with communication. The culture of this "underworld" region is very commercial, with much trading and traveling going on - since most people live in a cramped artificial habitat burrowed into some kind of insulated rock. When they can get out and see another rock, they generally do it. Technology is not evenly distributed in Abaddon for many historical and cultural reasons as well as practical reasons, like the tendency of advanced technology to trigger horrible cataclysms. Throughout history the anthrosaurs of Abaddon have been developing advanced cultures and having them collapse suddenly or disintegrate and degenerate.
