They have five-fingered hands and can make sophisticated tools. There are two rows of scales protruding from the head, back and tail of the Draconians, and these particular scales are significantly larger on the male Draconians. Draconians usually live in coastal and wetland areas, avoiding cooler regions. They are aggressive and territorial carnivores, and they will eat their enemies, but their slow metabolisms don't require a large hunting territory. Draconians can often live in large family and tribal groups or even nearby other anthrosaurs, as long as their territory is not violated. On many worlds that have large wilderness areas, Draconians lurk in caves they carve from river banks which are difficult to spot from a distance. Genetically adapted for an amphibious lifestyle, the Draconians hear through both their ears and their jaws. They can hear and use low pitched sounds below the normal hearing range of some other archosaurs. In many circumstances, it is easier for Draconians to understand their various spoken languages under water. (Sometimes, in the middle of conversations, they even dunk their heads under the water to understand each other more clearly.) When outside of the water, they tend to use a great deal of body language for clarity. For other anthrosaurs, normal Draconian conversation would sound like a series of deep croaking, clicking and hooting sounds. Copyright © 1997 - 2003 Seth Galbraith and Benjamin Galbraith |
