Close relatives of the small bird-like predatory dinosaurs, Gremlins do not resemble those ferocious predators except for their small size, light build, and large forward-facing eyes. Their very large brains require an erect posture instead of a counter-balancing tail - they are completely tailless. Their three-digit hands and feet have blunt nails instead of razor-sharp talons. Their snouts are very short and their teeth are small and not sharp. Male Gremlins have brighter coloring than the females.

Gremlins are designed to use their brains, their eyes, and their manual dexterity (surprisingly good for having only three fingers) instead of traditional natural weapons like claws and teeth. Of all the anthrosaur races they are often the most skilled with machines.

Gremlin language has a varying pitched, fast paced, songbird-like sound to it. Not only are the sounds complex, but the positioning of the Gremlin's eyes, hands and head can alter the meaning of the words. The complex nature of the Gremlin languages reflects the complicated natural thought process of the Gremlin mind.
