Paradise
Geology
Paradise has several large oceans and continents plus year-round ice caps at the poles. In Paradise's ancient geological past, it was completely covered by water. Within the last hundred millenia, breeds of gigantic fast-growing coral have built up reefs, atolls, islands and eventually continents. The continents of Paradise are covered in rich topsoil and vegetation, with the exeption of several large deserts. These built-up continents lack metallic ores suitable for making tools, the hardest mineral being the brittle strata built up by the coral. EcologyParadise's ecosystems support a wide variety of archosaurian wildlife, relatively undisturbed by the technologically primitive anthrosaur cultures of this mineral-poor planet. Of particular note is the abundance of giant predators, from massive lyndwyrms to desert sandwyrms. TechnologyParadise's Anthrosaur cultures are technologically primitive, usually not implementing wheel and axle based machines and sometimes not even using fire. The most advanced and largest cultures here are made up primarily of the clever Hobgoblins, who have developed written languages. These hobgoblin cultures have also been known to apply mathematics and complex logic in war, agriculture, navigation, medicine and other fields. Minotaurs are the largest and most ferocious anthrosaurs of Paradise. Their physical power makes them naturally effective as bullies, scavenging from other anthrosaurs and attacking livestock in addition to hunting wild game. Minotaurs are almost never found in groups larger than small families. These Minotaurs are wary of fire, and have not mastered the use of it. The Unicorns are migratory vegetarian nomads who engage in simple gathering and slash and burn agriculture. They travel in bands of a dozen or more that generally stick to forested areas. Paradise is thought to be the homeworld of the Manticores, because this is planet where the Monopolis Trading Company discovered them. The Manticores on Paradise live in large herds, engaging in regular brawls to settle everyday disputes. This behavior is considered excessively rowdy, even frightening to their anthrosaur neighbors.
